Featuring Paninis such as the Chick & Tin (flash fried all-natural Joyce Farms chicken, house pickles, homemade honey-mustard & thinly sliced Swiss cheese on pain de mie flatbread), Brisket (braised beef brisket, caramelized onions & white bbq sauce on pain de mie flatbread), and main dishes such as Seared Flat Iron Steak (cucumber, avocado, sugar snaps, sweet corn, feta, cherry tomatoes, olive oil and mint crema) and Spring Pasta Pappardelle (sautéed sweet peas, asparagus, corn, cherry tomatoes, spring onions and pecorino), there is something for everyone to love!

Real and Rosemary

1920 29th Avenue South

Honest food served in pleasant surroundings, Real and Rosemary focuses on nutritious meals that do not contain preservatives, food dyes or MSG. In addition to a selection of Burgers, BLTs, Grilled Chicken, Reuben, and Meatball Sandwiches, their menu includes a delicious Beet, Fig, and Goat Cheese sandwich (cranberry walnut bread, beets, figs, goat cheese, arugula, and balsamic glaze).

Plates include the Spiced Rubbed Chicken, Grilled Herb Chicken, Flounder Cakes, and Housemade Braised Meatballs. Each of these plates come with your choice of two sides (Green Peas, Corn Polenta Cake, Charred Carrots with Thyme, Seasonal Succotash, Smashed Red Potatoes, Macaroni and Cheese, Brussels Sprouts Slaw with Butternut Squash, Fried Okra, and Yellow Pepper Slaw).

A kids' menu is available, too, with favorites like Spaghetti and Meatballs, AB&J Sandwich (almond butter and homemade blueberry jam, served with seasonal fruit), and Grilled Chicken Dippers.

705 Oak Grove Road
Homewood, Alabama 35209

Wood fired, locally sourced and carefully crafted comfort food are the specialty here. Entrees include BBQ Chicken and Grits (BBQ chicken, McEwen & Sons creamy grits, Alabama white sauce, zesty stewed tomatoes, house pickles, grilled spinach), Shrimp and Grits (Grilled Shrimp, McEwen and Sons Grits, sweet peas, carrots, green onion, and pesto), and Steak Frites (Filet Medallions with kale slaw, house cut fries, and horseradish mushroom butter).

Bettola Italian Restaurant

2930 3rd Avenue South
Birmingham, Alabama 35233

Serving both lunch and dinner, favorite menu items include the Antipasti Board; a variety of authentic Italian pizzas; and entrees such as Oven Roasted Gulf Fish (brick oven roasted fresh Gulf fish with seasonal farm vegetables), Lombatello (oven-seared Hanger steak, greens, shaved Parmigiano, Lemon Emulsion, cherry tomatoes), and Ramp Pesto Bucatini (housemade Bucatini pasta, Ramp Pento, pistachio, Ricotta Salata).

Café Dupont

113 20th Street North
Birmingham, Alabama 35203

A strong proponent of the "slow food" movement, the Café Dupont proudly supports local purveyors, like Michael Dean Farms in Leeds, which specializes in microgreens and various types of lettuce, and Wright Dairy Farm, operated by what may be the only dairy family left in Alabama that milks the cows, bottles the milk and sells it right on the farm.

The menu changes daily to reflect foods that are in season. A sample dinner menu includes Farm-to-Table Vegetable Tasting (green tomato, fried okra, Habersham Farm asparagus, carrots, zucchini, eggplant), Grilled Gulf Black Grouper (McEwen & Sons polenta cake, sauce buerre rouge, fennel relish, fried leeks), and Seared Duck Breast (sherry infused red cabbage, cranberry relish, shaved pistachio).
