Our Templeton Team scours the country for the healthiest restaurants, according to our strict standards of ingredient, preparation and environmental guidelines. Here are just a few of the many healthy, organic options we recommend when dining out in Albuquerque, New Mexico:

Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, you’ll find healthy menu options like their Lavender Salad (made with fresh greens, compressed watermelon and peaches, red onion, grape tomato, cucumber, fresh fig, watermelon radish, cilantro, fresh basis, pine nut, lavender, Danish bleu cheese, honey lavender vinaigrette); Watermelon Gazpacho (compressed watermelon, fresh basil, fresh mint, cucumber, feta cheese, orange supreme); Turkey Pear Sandwich (turkey, poached pear, Swiss cheese, arugula, Dijon mustard, fig jam, marbled rye); Grilled Salmon (with asparagus and leek puree, sauteed mushrooms, champagne agri dulce, pesto, casarecce pasta); Caulilini & Asparagus (roasted caulilini, asparagus, olive oil, herbs, balsamic reduction, orange zest).

Farm & Table

8917 4th Street Northwest
Albuquerque, New Mexico 87114
505-503-7124

In addition to inhouse dining, Farm & Table offers a unique experience -- your own private picnic on the farm! Choose from three unique locations for your takeout picnic and order your takeout dinner the day before your reservation. They’ll pack your order in a picnic basket and your space will be ready when you arrive to pick up your order! How fun is that?

Their menu changes with the seasons, of course. But typical dinner menu items include Kabocha Squash (mushroom, tofu, greens, kimchi); Cavatelli (housemade pasta, beef, lamb, mint, pistachio, goat labneh, sumac); Trout (quinoa, sunchoke, fennel, caper, lemon); Chicken (mushroom, chicken confit, fingerlings, truffle).

Farm & Table partners with Native American ranchers in Western New Mexico, as well as butchering their own farm-raised beef which we will occasionally incorporate into our menu. They also feature these menu ingredients regularly: ground corn from Santa Ana Pueblo; green & red chile from Lemitar; Heidi’s Organic Raspberry Jam from Corrales, Mesilla Valley pecans; cheese from Tucumcari; and honey from Moses in Los Ranchos.

Artichoke Café

424 Central Avenue Southeast
Albuquerque, New Mexico 87102
505-243-0200

With an emphasis on fresh, farm-to-fork ingredients, their menu is full of inspiring dishes, many of them containing – you guessed it – artichokes! Enjoy healthy, flavorful dishes such as Artichoke Ravioli (spinach, chard, ricotta, parmesan, vegetable broth, gremolata), Pan Roasted Half Chicken Diablo (parmesan polenta, spicy cacciatore), or Branzino ‘Acqua Pazza’ (tomato, fennel, caper, olive, white wine, baby carrot, grilled lemon). All are served with your choice of side dishes like Roasted Carrots, Roasted Cauliflower, Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Parmesan Polenta, or Fries.

Grassburger (2 locations)

11225 Montgomery Boulevard Northeast
Albuquerque, New Mexico 87111
505-200-0571

5600 Coors Boulevard Northwest
Albuquerque, New Mexico 87120

Grassburger uses 100% USA grass-fed beef, GMO-free craft batch potato buns, gluten-free, vegan and allergy friendly, with NO corn syrup or peanut oil. In addition to a wide variety of tasty burgers, their menu features other hearty fare such as the Sunrise Bowl (2 fried cage-free eggs and naturally smoked Boar’s Head bacon on quinoa + rice, topped with cheddar, pico de gallo, guacamole and chipotle sauce), Southwest Vegan Bowl (black bean patty on quinoa + rice topped with sautéed mushrooms, cabbage, pico de gallo and either spicy serrano sauce or BBQ sauce), and Green Chile Jack Bowl (100% USA grass-fed beef, turkey, or black bean -- your choice of patty on quinoa + rice, green chile, pepperjack cheese, shredded cabbage, pico de gallo & green chile ranch dressing).

Vinaigrette

1828 Central Avenue Southwest
Albuquerque, New Mexico 87104
505-842-5507

Growing food in the high desert isn’t easy, but owner/founder Erin Wade has persevered with her alliances with area farms like the 10 terraced acres along the Nambe River in New Mexico. This agroecological farm is one of the suppliers of seasonal vegetables and fruit and farm fresh eggs for the Vinaigrette restaurant.

The Vinaigrette, located on historic Route 66, offers dishes that will tickle your taste buds... like Eat Your Peas (fresh baby lettuce and sweet green peas with crunchy bacon shards, savory white mushroom sauté and Asiago cheese with a tart vinaigrette); Cherry Tart (sweet dried cherries, crumbled feta, and chilied pecans tossed with arugula & Swiss chard, bright Champagne vinaigrette), The Beet Goes On (fresh baby greens and arugula tossed with tangy goat cheese, chopped pistachios, balsamic roasted beets and honey-balsamic vinaigrette), and The Nutty Pear-Fessor (balsamic-roasted pears, bacon crumbles, toasted pecan halves and earthy blue cheese served with tender greens and ruby port vinaigrette.
