While this Gastropub serves its fair share of burgers and pizzas, it was the Dinner Plate menu that caught our attention. Roasted Root Vegetables (carrots, parsnips, beets, celery root puree, herbs, Pan Jus); and the Field of Greens (mixed baby greens, leeks, toasted pumpkin seeds, Cotija cheese, soy-sherry vinaigrette).

Open for breakfast and lunch, Health on Lark is a vegetarian restaurant serving local, organic, farm to table food, with vegan and gluten-free options available. Try any of their smoothies or for something a bit more substantial, the Greek Omelette (2 organic local eggs, spinach, onion, feta, served with whole wheat toast and roasted yams) or the Build-Your-Own Omelette (spinach, bell peppers, pesto, cheddar, feta, seitan, tomatoes, caramelized onion, jalapeno, black beans, served with buttered whole wheat toast and roasted yams). We also like the Soba Noodle Stir Fry (Japanese buckwheat noodles, shiitake mushrooms, greens, carrots, sesame oil, Tamari, served with kimchi) and the Grilled Portabello Sandwich (sauteed portabello mushrooms and onions in a kale cashew pesto, tomato, and spinach).

Healing meals offers fully cooked pre-portioned meals. Menus change every two weeks. It is not subscription based, so you can order whenever you like. Check their website for pickup and delivery schedules. Look for menu items such as Spinach and Sun dried Tomato Turkey Burger (stuffed turkey burger topped with a sundried tomato bruschetta, served over a portobello mushroom with mixed veggies on the side) and the Orange Beet & Goat Cheese salad (with pumpkin seeds, shallots and balsamic dressing). Bulk ordering is also available.

Shangri-La Buddha Organic Vegan Restaurant

Open 7 days a week from 11am-3p and 4:30-8pm local time, Shangri-La’s modest menu includes Mung Bean Mixed Veggie Soup; Sauteed Carrots, Cauliflower, Green Beans and Yellow Squash; Green Lentils with onion and carrot; Steamed Collard Green Kale with Brown Mushroom Beet Sauce, and more.
